Line Trash Bags with Newspaper to Prevent Leaks

11-line-trashcan-newspaper

We’ve all had the unpleasant experience of taking out the trash only to discover a trail of liquid goop leaked out all over the floor. That’s especially true if you use plastic grocery bags for your trash, they seem to have holes more often than not. This simple hack involves folding up a few layers of newspaper and lining the bottom of your trash bag with it. The newspaper will happily absorb any liquid nasties that might normally find their way onto your floor (or your shoes)!

Unpopped Popcorn Hack

16-popcorn-kernel-removal

No one likes to bite into an unpopped popcorn kernel when enjoying a nice warm bowl of freshly-popped popcorn. When microwaving popcorn, you’re always walking a tight line. Cook the bag too little and you’ll be finding very few kernels actually popped. Cook too long and you’ll give your popcorn an unpleasant burnt flavor. This simple hack involves slightly separating the opening of your microwave popcorn bag (beware of the steam), and then shaking the bag over the trash to remove the unpopped kernels before serving. Enjoy!

Grilled Fish on Lemon Slices

grill-fish-on-lemons

Like peanut butter and chocolate, fish and lemon are just meant to be together. But why stop at just sprinkling a little lemon juice on your fish? Instead, try grilling your next fish meal directly on top of lemon slices. You’ll not only avoid the misfortune of having your fish stick to the grill (a major bummer!), but the fish will taste fantastico too!

Cut Hard to Reach PVC Pipe Using Just a Piece of String

Instant Trash Liners

trash-bag-liners

Replacing trash liner bags can be a real drag, so we’ve got a hack to minimize the hassle. Rather than replace liners one by one, load up a half dozen or so liners in one shot. When it’s time to take out the trash, you’ll have more liners ready to rock. As an added bonus, the additional liners can also catch any trash goop if you happen to use a bag with a rip or tear!

Yogurt Container Seedling Pots

Sure, you could just go buy seedling pots at your local nursery, but what fun is that?! Instead, why not gorge yourself on yogurt and then use those yogurt containers to nurture your seeds? All it takes is a few holes poked in the bottom for drainage (if desired). It’s a garden hack that not only benefits your garden, but it also helps YOU from becoming calcium deficient!
