Herb Ice Cubes

herb ice cubes

Fresh herbs don’t last long in the refrigerator. Instead of tossing them in the trash can freeze them instead. Grab an empty ice cube tray and fill each section 3/4s of the way full with chopped herbs. Add olive oil until it nearly reaches the top. When the time comes just toss a few herb cubes into your saucepan for quick and easy seasoning.

Make Your Own Natural Dryer Sheets

natural dryer sheets

Are you tired of purchasing dryer sheets? You’re not alone. Simply cut up some old clean rags or a towel and place them into a jar containing a mixture of white vinegar and a few drops of your favorite essential oil. Wring them out and hang them up to dry. Once they are dry, you’ll have a stack of natural dryer sheets ready to throw in with your next load of laundry. Each dryer sheet can be reused about half a dozen times before it needs to be revived. If you still want that official dryer sheet scent, skip the vinegar and essential oil and dip your reusable dryer sheets in fabric softener instead.

Dust Free Drilling

Hanging some curtains? Installing a shelf? Don’t let cleaning up the drywall dust from the hole drilling take up more time than the actual project itself. Drill with a vacuum hose directly below your hole and your cleanup will be done before you know it.

Cutting Board Countertop Hack

10-top-drawer-cutting-board

So, you’re running a little short on countertop space? Fear not! This handy kitchen hack can multiply your kitchen workspace with ease. While the cutting board shown here is on the small side, this hack works best with a rectangular board that fits fairly evenly over one of your drawers. Just make sure the drawer isn’t over-extended and that the board is stable and well-supported, or the “hack” might wind up being from a knife injury. Once your cutting board is in place, enjoy your newly expanded countertop, whether its for actual cutting, or just additional space to set things on.
