Crazy Japanese Tutorial on Hassle Free Potato Peeling

If you don’t speak Japanese you should probably turn down your sound on this one. Here’s a general translation of what’s shown. . . First, take a knife and cut through the skin of the potato (cutting around the mid point). Boil your potatoes. Then, toss the potatoes in an ice bath for around 10 or 15 seconds. Then carefully pull the skin apart as shown in the video. With any luck, the two halves of skin will slide right off. This is a million times faster than peeling potatoes by hand.

Oversized Ice Cubes via a Muffin Tin

muffin-tin-ice-tray

It’s hot! The only thing worse than a warm beverage on a hot summer’s day is ice that melts prematurely. Standard ice cubes just don’t stand up to summer heat the way they should. This summer, keep your beverage frostier than an Alaskan winter morning with oversized ice cubes. Simply use muffin tins (silicon style work best) and freeze some ice that will give your standard trays cube-envy.
