Utility Sink Rack

Reclaim some of the space over the utility sink in the laundry room. I have seen inserts for kitchen sinks, but couldn’t find anything for utility sinks. I discovered that an ordinary metal standing rack fit almost perfectly upside down in the sink; all I had to do was bend the legs back 180° so they wouldn’t stick up and could also grab the sides. The bending was done by hand. Wire shelving can also work with a little adjustment. The results have been great, this utility sink rack is very strong and easy to keep clean.

DIY Picture Frame Chalkboard

This picture frame chalkboard is so easy! All you need is an old picture frame (any size will do) and black chalkboard paint. First remove the glass from your frame, then paint it. Put painted glass back in frame and follow directions on chalk paint for curing. To prevent chalk from “ghosting” or shadowing by seasoning it. Season chalkboard by rubbing full length of board vertically with side of white chalk, then do the same horizontally. be sure to cover board completely. Once you’ve done this, wipe with soft cloth or chalkboard eraser and blow away excess powder.

You don’t have to go and buy a brand new magnetized screwdriver to hold onto tiny screws. Just run your screwdriver over a magnet as shown in the video and you will have yourself a tool that doubles as a magnet, both to hold the screw in place, or to pick up any dropped screws that are hard to reach.

Make a pool noodle paint brush holder in order to secure rollers and brushes when painting. Painting can be a messy business, if you are not careful. In order to cut down on unruly paint splatter, cut a pool noodle to the size of your paint tray. Then use scissors to cut several slits halfway through the upside of pool noodle.
